![]() Gary E. Duncan, Ph.D., the founder and president of SLR, has 23 years research experience investigating effects of drugs on brain chemistry and behavior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In order to share his excitement for science with public school systems, he has been conducting science education research for the past 7 years. This educational research has resulted in developed the Brain Explorers Program that teaches elementary and middle school students about the brain and effects of drugs on the brain. SLR was created initially in 2000 to “spin-out” products and curricula generated from this science education research.
